Naarm/Melbourne based rock band Floodlights announce their third album 'Underneath', to be released on March 21, 2025 via [PIAS] Australia. 'Underneath' was written amidst extensive touring across the UK and Europe, Australia and the US, and was marked by a surreal period in the band members' lives - full of firsts, exploring new places and playing the biggest gigs and festivals to date. Despite the transient nature of their new life on the road, the writing process proved to be an extremely intimate time, characterized by quiet, shared moments of contemplation. The songs that emerged represent a process of reckoning, catharsis and growth within the group. They fuse the incisive social reflections for which they are known with more personal meditations on grief, memories and place, ultimately giving form to the myriad emotions and experiences lurking beneath the surface. With their enveloping alt-rock soundscapes, Floodlights paint a metamorphosis in motion on 'Underneath' as they explore, at its core, what it means to be human.
