Kicking off what promises to be an exciting and comprehensive reappraisal of the artist’s repertoire between 1977 and the posthumously released final album Ten More Turnips From The Tip, Too Nutty To Be Naughty charts a thrilling journey from his punk-era masterpiece New Boots And Panties!!, through his classic studio works as a solo artist and with bands The Blockheads and The Music Students. Where appropriate, for this 9CD release, crucial standalone singles have been added.  

As to be expected from this versatile artist, throughout there are forays into rock ‘n’ roll, jazz and R&B, spoken word poetry, ska and just about all points in-between. With an innate genius for lyric writing, the songs here are, at turns, political, confrontational, tender, witty, wry, poetic and occasionally downright hilarious but always incisive…
