The Rogue Prince of Persia (Original Soundtrack)
Ubisoft, Evil Empire and Laced Records return to save the kingdom once again, bringing the scintillating soundtrack for The Rogue Prince of Persia to vinyl.
Like the game itself, the music of The Rogue Prince of Persia emphasises agility and forward-motion reverberating with mystic power. Persian-American composer and producer Asadi dexterously blends traditional sounds with contemporary production techniques. Lithe melodies crafted using the Persian tar, setar, oud, saz and tanbur glide atop undulating, earth-shaking bass and snaking trap beats. Instruments duck and weave around each other in a carefully choreographed dance.
Asadi’s compositions are bolstered by collaborators including master players of Persian instruments. Percussionist Naghib Shanbehzadeh’s rhythmic flourishes provide the perfect counterpoint to Asadi’s electronic beats and Daf drums, while Shaho Andalibi’s Persian Ney lines add a heady dose of mystic energy. Keyboard virtuoso Brockett Parsons lends his talents to “Ashes of Knowledge” with rippling synthesiser lines. Striking vocal performances lend the soundtrack a distinct sense of mythos - from Alex Fitzpatrick’s guttural throat singing to singer XYE’s cinematic lyricism on the euphoric main theme and “God Under the Rubble”.
