The New Space
Set over one apocalyptically hot summerā¦
Part-manifesto, part-novel: āThe New Spaceā recounts the story of a lone culture worker (āartistā) who ā in one last desperate bid for relevance ā and armed only with access to social media ā declares āinformation warā on the entire Culture Industry and its gatekeeper-managers -Ā AKA - āSpace Controlā.
āSpace Control do not like innovation: they like heavily sign-posted and transparent ālineageā ā a composite of āinfluencesā so close to their origin that they are almost copies. So, itās crucial that I conjure up an aesthetic that reminds them of what they already like: āBattleship Potemkinā, āLāAtalanteā, āAndrei Rublevā - maybe even āEraserheadā ā or, even better: something to do with Throbbing Gristle.ā
Ā
A4 portrait (21 x 29.7cm), offset litho printed, 56 pages, black and white inners, with two colour 380gsm fluorescent/gloss cover, saddle-stitched book.
