The Baggage Room Vol.2 – Meanwhile
Meanwhile is the title of pianist Emiliano D’Auria’s new project. The energy and vibrancy of the American sound combine with Mediterranean (or European) melodic sensibilities in an original and contemporary sound, born from the meeting of different styles, cultures, and visions.
Emiliano D’Auria appears on stage leading a new international quintet, composed by Philip Dizack on trumpet, Godwin Louis on saxophone, Jacopo Ferrazza on double bass, and Joe Dyson on drums. Meanwhile is also the second chapter of a larger project, which began with the album "The Baggage Room," in which Emiliano musically recounted the experiences of European immigrants arriving at Ellis Island. This new project focuses, instead, on what happens after their settlement in New York, telling the stories of those who have found a new path, facing a new life.
Emiliano D'Auria's music isn't meant to evoke past times and narratives, but rather, to offer a contemporary reflection on the human experience and the social challenges that define our time. Meanwhile is a crossroads of styles and identities, a bridge between different worlds that dialogue with each other.
