Reptilian Brain

Reptilian Brain

After a break from touring and performing, Liverpool-based trio Alpha Male Tea Party are back and they’ve been busy. Following on from 2020’s Infinity Stare, they now emerge with Reptilian Brain, a bold and expansive new album set for release on Big Scary Monsters in October 2025. Known for their combination of vast and aggressive instrumental workings, the band have long stood at the vanguard of the UK’s math and progressive rock scenes. With Reptilian Brain, they push their sonic identity into striking new territory: for the first time, vocals and lyrics play a central role. While retaining their signature mix of heavy riffs, polyrhythmic grooves, and melodic complexity, Reptilian Brain introduces a more direct emotional resonance. The inclusion of vocals marks a significant creative leap, transforming their dense, guitar-driven arrangements into narratives that confront grief, anger, and existential dread with surprising vulnerability. Having had support from the likes of Metal Hammer, Rolling Stone, Total Guitar, Prog Magazine and Rocksounds, as well as praise from Daniel P Carter at Radio 1, Alpha Male Tea Party have carved out their niche over the course of 10 years, playing prime slots at ArcTanGent, Portal and Strangeforms festivals time and again. Reptilian Brain is AMTP welcoming in a new era: it’s one hell of a good time while reaching for the emotional jugular. Fans Also Like: Body Hound, Cleft, Vasa, Three Trapped Tigers, Everything Everything, Deftones, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Brontide, Gallops
