Ace records recently purchased the Jacklyn label from Darrow Fletcher and have chosen the dynamic dancer ‘Pushin' And Pullin'’ for the first release. Darrow’s father Johnny Haygood produced the Johnny Moore and Maurice Simpkins song on the Lovemasters, but it sold only locally. Always regarded as a great collector’s item, recent plays have made it very popular – witness the rising prices.

Lovemasters’ lead singer was Ron Murray and Johnny Haygood continued to work with him after the group had moved on. They cut ‘First Day Of Spring’ for Jacklyn subsidiary label Genna in 1971. It was the second release on Murray but it proved to be the label’s swansong, despite the quality of the beautiful song and production.
