Groundbreaking debut album Passing Stranger launched Scott Matthews' career when it was released in 2006 to widespread critical acclaim, leading to an Ivor Novello for "Best Song Musically and Lyrically" for the single 'Elusive'. Comparisons were made to Jeff Buckley and Nick Drake, alongside fellow Wolves supporter Robert Plant, with whom Matthews' has since collaborated and toured. Both Zane Lowe and Jo Whiley picked ‘Elusive' as their Single of the Week. The album drew in a host of A-list fans including Dave Grohl, Damon Albarn and Guy Pearce, who went on to star in the stunning Damien Hyde-directed video for 'Wait In The Car' from Matthews' most recent album Restless Lullabies. With noted hints of Neil Finn, Thom Yorke and Jeff Buckley, the album was described as a "gem of an album" by the BBC on release, and features the track 'Elusive', which won the the 2007 Ivor Novello Award for "Best Song Musically and Lyrically”.
