Out In The Fields - The Albums 1972-1974

Newly remastered 3CD clamshell box set anthology featuring the three albums recorded by West, Bruce and Laing.

The band was formed in January 1972 when guitarist Leslie West and drummer Corky Laing (members of the American rock band Mountain) teamed up with Jack Bruce following the disbanding of Mountain and Jack’s touring activities following the release of his solo album Harmony Row.

Following a series of live dates, the trio recorded their debut album, Why Doncha, in New York later that year. The album was a top thirty hit in the USA and saw the band in demand as a live attraction. Their second album, Whatever Turns You On, was recorded in the spring of 1973 and was released in June of that year.

The sessions for this time would be the last time that West, Bruce and Laing would work together, but news of the band’s break up was withheld until April 1974, immediately prior to the release of the powerful live album Live n’ Kickin. This live album was a rock tour de force. Featuring only four tracks, the record included an extensive cover version of The Rolling Stones’ ‘Play With Fire’, along with a version of the Cream classic ‘Politician' and the Jack Bruce live favourite ‘Powerhouse Sod’.

Out into the Fields – The Albums 1972 - 1974 features all three albums recorded by West, Bruce and Laing, all newly remastered from the original master tapes. The set also includes an illustrated booklet with essay.
