Reclusive puzzle-setter John âLudwigâ Taylor sees his life of solitude turned upside down when his identical twin brother, James, disappears. In a quest to track James down Ludwig assumes his brotherâs identity, but by taking over Jamesâs life, Ludwig is forced to confront his own issues. Unlike Ludwig, James is no hermit. Far from it, in fact. Heâs a family man who also just happens to be DCI of Cambridge's busy major investigations team. The jaunty Ludwig theme kicks off a small but perfectly formed collection of key cues by composers Nathan Klein and Finn Keane with nods to Beethoven. From the moment Mark Brotherhood incorporated Beethovenâs 9th as a key element to Johnâs backstory, and of course the origin of his pen name âLudwigâ, scoring the series became a gift to any composer. This musical thread felt so exciting and compelled us to compose an original score using fragments of Beethoven as inspiration.
