Syracuse hardcore band Trail of Lies return in 2024 with Only The Strong, their first full-length since 2019, out July 19 via Triple B Records. Formed in 2011 with the goal of creating primal, heavy music, the band channels that mission into the crushing title track and lead single, blending furious vocals with pummeling guitars and drums. Produced by Andy Nelson at Bricktop Recording and mastered by Brad Boatright, the album features guest appearances from hardcore veterans Pat Flynn, Scott Vogel, Danny Diablo, Sebastian Paba, and Aldo Felix, resulting in an intense, metallic NYHC-inspired sound.
Lyrically, Only The Strong explores strength in its many forms—from perseverance and resistance to rejecting destructive institutions. Vocalist Tom Damiano describes it as a reflection of the band’s own growth, embodying both physical and mental resilience. With eleven tightly executed tracks and their reputation for explosive live performances, Trail of Lies enter a new era while staying true to their roots, supported by a run of shows with Drain, Terror, Scowl, End It, and appearances at This Is Hardcore and the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival.
