New Years Concert 2026
Sony Masterworks release the Vienna Philharmonic New Year’s Concert 2026 on x3 LP Vinyl, x2 CD, DVD and Blu-Ray. For the first time, the Vienna Philharmonic has invited Canadian conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin to lead the iconic New Year’s Concert. Nézet-Séguin’s collaboration with the orchestra began at the Mozart Week in Salzburg in 2010. Since then, he has conducted them regularly in Vienna, Salzburg, and on tour — with highlights including the acclaimed Summer Night Concert 2023. Vienna Philharmonic chairman Daniel Froschauer highlights his importance: “The Vienna Philharmonic has enjoyed a close and fruitful artistic partnership with Yannick Nézet-Séguin since 2010… In choosing Yannick Nézet-Séguin we seek to fulfil our goal of working more with the younger generation of conductors.” The New Year’s Concert live from Vienna is one of the world’s most famous classical music events. Broadcast to over 90 countries, it reaches more than 50 million viewers worldwide each year. Since 1939, this annual celebration has been conducted by legendary maestros including Herbert von Karajan, Lorin Maazel, Claudio Abbado, Carlos Kleiber, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Seiji Ozawa, Mariss Jansons, Gustavo Dudamel, and Franz Welser-Möst.
