Repress of the German duo Nighthawks' second album 'Metro Bar', originally released in 2001. It confirmed them as leading artists in nu jazz - specialists in combining cool grooves and atmospheric samples, over which a clear voice and a sole trumpet sing stories from the big city. Sometimes cuttingly articulate, sometimes touched with longing. Just as their hit debut album 'Citizen Wayne' was a calculated collection of ironic references to the spaghetti western genre (and its musical maestro Ennio Morricone), as well as nocturnal city impressions, 'Metro Bar' is a more purely urban soundtrack.
