Love Comes Close is the debut full-length from Cold Cave — a record born of late nights, second-hand synths, and the quiet urgency of DIY bedroom recordings. Written and recorded in Philadelphia between 2008 and 2009, it was first released on Heartworm Press and later reissued by Matador Records, just as the band began its slow rise into cult territory.
These are dark pop songs for the solitary and the searching — fragile, romantic, and glimmering with cold light. With nods to the early experiments of The Human League, Throbbing Gristle, and New Order, the album merges goth undercurrents with indie charm and loft-born synth-pop.
