Through their frequent live shows, System 7’s Steve Hillage (guitar) and Miquette Giraudy (keyboards) have forged their unique sonic identity. Tech house, techno, and trance meet in their music, using a sophisticated blend of programmed beats, live keyboards, and live psychedelic guitar to send audiences into dance delirium - as freshly captured on Live Transmissions 02.
Live Transmissions 02 is the second System 7 live album release. It was recorded at the Duo Music Exchange venue in Tokyo on May 10th, 2024. The set starts more downtempo, builds to a powerful climax, and then takes people over the edge with thunderous psychedelic techno.
Apart from the iconic "Alpha Wave," all the tracks on Live Transmissions 2 are more recent creations than those on the first Live Transmissions album. They include tunes from the albums Café Seven, X-Port, N-Port, and Up, and from 2008’s Phoenix. The album also features live renditions of collaborations with Jam El Mar and Japanese psy-trance duo Indigo.
