Following the success of their 2025 album Tuff Times Never Last and a headline show at O2 Academy Brixton, Kokoroko return with a raw, one-take session at Metropolis Studios. The London-based afrobeat jazz septet delivers their signature grooves and wide-ranging influencesâfrom 80s Brit-funk and R&B to West African discoâcaptured live straight to vinyl in their Jack Danielâs Revive Live session.
This four-track EP features âHigherâ from Get The Message, highlights from their second album, and a never-before-released cover of âExpress Your Loveâ, offering a raw, one-take glimpse into the bandâs evolving artistry. Kokoroko: âCutting live-to-vinyl is kind of like stamping time, youâre capturing this moment thatâs not going to happen the same way again. We love vinyl, so it just felt right; doing it in the spirit of some of our favourite records. Weâd never played some of these songs like this before, it felt like the perfect way to capture them. We also covered Sweet and Innocentâs âExpress Your Loveâ (such a gorgeous track) and itâs the first time recording Noushy on lead vocals with us. She sounds amazing, and we really wanted to give her that shine.â
