Hardly any āindieā band from Down Under has managed to make it into the headlines and charts worldwide beyond their continent in recent years. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, founded in Melbourne in 2010, are the famous exception to the infamous rule. Moreover, 24 studio albums in 10 years speak a clear workaholic language, and also testify to the fact that the group enjoys what they do enormously. Their mixture of LoFi (hard) rock, mixed with garage, psychdelic prog and blues, is quite unique these days. It goes without saying that this is particularly effective live, given the sound melange. The performances are always at the highest level, even if the setlist is hardly recognizable from tour to tour due to the sheer unmanageable output. āLive Around The Globeā is a compilation of the best of these moments - an imaginary live concert - mastered in one flow.
