House of Dead Memories / Long Live Love

House of Dead Memories / Long Live Love

Formed in 1992 by Bob Mould (Hüsker Dü) alongside bassist David Barbe and drummer Malcolm Travis, Sugar quickly made their mark with the acclaimed debut Copper Blue – hailed as one of the defining albums of the ’90s for its fusion of sharp melodic hooks and raw guitar power. Follow-up releases Beaster and File Under: Easy Listening cemented the band’s reputation before they disbanded in 1995.

Now, 30 years on, Sugar have reformed with new live dates in 2026, including three nights at New York’s Webster Hall and two at London’s O2 Kentish Town Forum. To mark the occasion, they’ve unveiled 2 brand-new songs, “House of Dead Memories” and “Long Live Love,” available as a limited edition 7” vinyl single.
