Abscess hailed from Oakland California & started life in 1994. 'Horrorhammer' was the band's debut release for Tyrant Syndicate Productions, the then sub-label of Peaceville, run by Nocturno Culto & Fenriz of Darkthrone. The Darkthrone duo had been long-time fans of both Abscess & Autopsy & thought that the band would suit the attitude & mentality of their Tyrant Syndicate label perfectly, so in early 2006 a deal was sealed & work swiftly began on the new album & seventh full-length release, 'Horrorhammer', a relentless injection of filth-ridden metal.
