Forest Mountain Forest
Second solo album from Simon Bromide and friends. South London singer-songwriter Simon Bromide returns with a new album Forest Mountain Forest, continuing on from 2021âs highly praised Following the Moon.
Simon Bromide and The Bromides to reflect a more established band lineup for the recording, with Ed âCosmoâ Wright returning for bass duty, Sam Kelly on drums (son of famous 60s âblueserâ Dave Kelly), Ollie Parfitt on keys and Simon on acoustic and electric guitars. Brian OâShaughnessy (Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine, Denim and Beth Orton) was once again on production duties at Bark Studios. The name might have changed but the touchpoints are similar â Teenage Fanclub / Big Star, The Bevis Frond, Silver Jews and Mark Eitzel. Forest Mountain Forest is essentially another of Simon's fanboy scrapbooks. âEver since I saw a black & white image of The Beatles on my mumâs tv in 1976 Iâve been hooked by this thing called pop musicâ explains Simon, âIâve been devoured by it. It informs pretty much every moment of every waking day in one way or another and writing and performing songs has become a lifelong pursuitâ.
The album features contributions from new and previous collaborators including - Terry Edwards, Piney Gir, Andy Hank Dog, Dave Hale, Katy Carr, Dmitri Ntontis, Anna Masic, Alvin Spetz, Vivienne Soan.
