Falling Forward

Falling Forward

Jack Studer is your neighbor. He’s your buddy sitting on the porch picking tunes with a smile on his face, flipping over an old bucket for you to pull up a seat. Jack’s music is as welcoming as the man himself, but don’t let its easy-going nature fool you. Originally from Philadelphia and currently based on the outskirts of Nashville, he's been honing his singular voice and guitar playing prowess for over a decade, touring with his long time friends the West King String Band and, more recently, performing with Nick Shoulders. Yet after traveling endless miles and countless stages, he still makes time to sing a song all his own. What lies beneath the warm melodies and placid surface is the true heart of Jack Studer, a well of mischievous wit and fearless introspection. His songs stem from a place of seeking solitude in a reality of humming highways and whining airports and barrooms. Falling Forward, Jack's second album, is 13 tracks of slacker alt-country that binds traditional Nashville roots with contemporary indie rock sensibilities. Recorded live at his house and co-produced by Grant D’Aubin (Nick Shoulders, Willi Carlisle), the album blends folk-rock, classic country, and confessional americana with the craft of a genuine drifter and veteran sideman falling forward into his own.
