Exotic Animals
The Tokyo-born DJ Himitsu is a regular in London's DJ circuit and can be spotted spinning his treasure trove vinyl collection on a weekly basis. While not on the decks he runs a record shop at Hackney's Netil Market, importing rare Japanese vinyl editions to the UK.
Exotic Animals is DJ Himitsu's debut album and follows an acid house EP on Australia's Lunatic Music. This time, however, he dropped the 303 and instead journeyed into the depths of Fourth World and ambient electronics. Himitsu's method of building exotic soundscapes by sampling resembles a sculpture made entirely of broken pieces of ancient pottery. World rhythms combine with nature sounds and ambient electronics like a soundtrack to a mystical expedition.
