Eterno
Born on January 7, 1950, in ParĂĄcuaro, a municipality located in MichoacĂĄn, Mexico, Juan Gabriel rose from difficult circumstances to break barriers in music and eventually step onto the stage of Mexicoâs acclaimed Palacio de Bellas Artes, the first pop artist to do so, and the only artist to appear three times during his career.
During Juan Gabrielâs 45-year career, which produced over 1,800 songs, 32 studio albums and three live albums (all at Bellas Artes), he sold over 100 million records, with the best- selling album of all time in Mexico, and collaborated with 800 different artists in seven different languages.
Incredibly, during the last two years of his life, Juan Gabriel scored four Number 1 Latin albums, including Los DĂșo (2015), which was certified Platinum in the US and 2x Diamond in Mexico.Â
Many of his songs are considered part of Mexicoâs cultural heritage, such as âAmor Eternoâ (Eternal Love), âQueridaâ (Dear One), âHasta que te conocĂâ (Until I Met You), âAbrazame Muy Fuerteâ (Hold Me Tight), âTe Lo Pido Por Favorâ (Please Ask You), âTe I Still Love Youâ, âAsĂ Fueâ (That's How It Was), âPor quĂ© me hizo Llorarâ (Why Do You Make Me Cry?), âEl Noa Noaâ (The Noa Noa) and âNo Tengo Dineroâ (I Have No Money).
Eterno is the latest Mariachi album from Juan Gabriel. The album features never heard before vocals recorded by Juan Gabriel before his passing that are now backed by newly recorded Mariachi music.Â
The album was produced by Guillermo HernĂĄndez Galicia, who served as Juan Gabrielâs mariachi and live music director for over 25 years. All songs on the album were written by Don Alberto Aguilera Valadez.
