Electronic Babies

Albums of the Year 2024 - Number 77 Isolation Berlin are Max Bauer (guitar/organ), David Specht (bass), Simeon Cöster (drums) and Tobias Bamborschke (vocals and guitar). After an EP collection and three albums, ‘ELECTRONIC BABIES’ is now their fourth album and will be released on 11 October 2024 Ever since the self-dramatisation of the individual was declared the ultimate goal, bands have gone out of fashion. However, the band ISOLATION BERLIN is certainly indifferent to the zeitgeist. Instead, they create their own genre and aptly call it protopop. Tobias Bamborschke's vocals are haunting, melancholic and sometimes nihilistic. The band's spectrum ranges from pop to rock to chanson. And it is certainly no coincidence that Sven Regener from Element of Crime appears as a trumpeter on the new album. The shoegazing echoes on the album cover are no coincidence either. But much more important are the suffering, anger and humour in ISOLATION BERLIN's music, something that is rarely found these days. Isolation Berlin recorded, arranged and produced ‘Electronic Babies’ in their own proto-pop studio. However, the band brought in Moses Schneider as co-producer for two of the eleven tracks. That's saying something, because until now ISOLATION BERLIN have strictly rejected producers and have always done everything themselves. They have long since proven that they are capable of doing this and they prove it again on this album.
