Echoes Of Isolation

Defecto is a Copenhagen-based metal band formed in 2011 by talented guitarist/vocalist Nicklas Sonne (Aries Descendant), guitarist Frederik Møller, and bassist Thomas Bartholin. From the beginning, the band shaped a sound rooted in heavy, melodic metal with progressive and cinematic undertones. Over the years, Defecto has released three full-length albums, 2 EP’s and multiple live shows, combining technical precision with strong melody and emotional intensity. Their music moves between grand, atmospheric passages and sharp, riff-driven aggression — always grounded in solid songwriting and dynamic contrast. Defecto has become a familiar name in the Danish metal scene, known for their energetic live performances and their ability to fuse modern and classic metal elements. They’ve supported acts like Metallica and Rammstein, and played at festivals such as Copenhell and RockFest Finland. Frontiers Records is supporting the talent of Niklas and his different projects and the new album " Echoes of Isolation " will be a must for the fans of Progressive Metal and acts such as Symphony X — a dark and introspective record that explores themes of mental illness, anxiety, and emotional fragmentation. It’s Defecto’s most personal and focused work to date, and a clear step forward in their ongoing evolution. That's how Niklas talks about the new album: "A conceptual journey through fractured minds. Defecto’s new album is an unflinching descent into the fractured realms of the human psyche — a concept record that explores the raw, often invisible weight of mental illness. Each song inhabits a different psychological struggle — insomnia, schizophrenia, OCD, PTSD, paranoia, dissociation, trauma — giving voice to the war within. It’s not clinical. It’s not clean. It’s chaotic, dark, and painfully real. From the relentless loops of OCD (“Sacred Alignment”) to the dissociative drift of depersonalization (“Shattered Reality”), to the nightmarish grasp of childhood trauma (“Echoes of Isolation”), the album captures what it means to exist while your mind fights to survive. The soundscape is equally intense — balancing crushing riffs, cinematic tension, and melodic depth — as the band drags the listener through spirals of fear, rage, detachment, and despair. This isn’t just a metal album. It’s a mirror held to the mind. It’s the scream behind the silence. It’s the breakdown you can’t explain. Welcome to the dark truth behind the mask. Welcome to Defecto’s most personal and punishing work to date"
