Gabriel Prokofiev is a London-based composer, producer, DJ, and founder of the Nonclassical record label. Dark Lights is his first own release on the label in over a decade.
Prokofiev's distinctive sound draws on his background as a producer of hip-hop, grime, and electro, as well as his earlier studies in electroacoustic classical music at York and Birmingham universities, resulting in a compelling mix of orchestral sounds, analogue synths and 808-style beats.
The album features the FAME European Youth Orchestra as well as remixes by NWAKKE, Adhelm and Nicholas Thayer.
