Curses
punk does-the-splitz death-charge disco...ferocious, melodic gems...these are some of the things said about the thunderous future of the left. it's one hell of a way to introduce yourself. no messing. as the dirty, fuzzy bass and pounding drums of 'the lord hates a coward' erupt, with the inimitable refrain 'violence solved everything', it's clear future of the left mean business. you wouldn't expect anything less either, consisting, as they do, of two ex-members of the now defunct mclusky and one ex-member of the now defunct jarcrew. that's right. the snarling vocals/guitar are those of mr andrew falkous, the relentless drumming that of mr jack egglestone and the mesmeric bass lines those of mr kelson louis tregurtha mathias, who also provides backing vocals. 'curses', then, finds future of the left in combative mood. consisting of 14 tracks and clocking in at just 37 minutes, it's certainly an intense listen. recorded at monnow valley studios over three weekends from late october 2006 to march 2007 and mastered at abbey road, it's an album that takes no prisoners.
