Complete Decca Recordings

Pascal Rogé was an exclusive Decca artist in the 1970s and ’80s, extensively documenting the music of Ravel, Debussy, Satie, and Poulenc. Concertos, chamber music, solo piano music and song, Mozart, Beethoven, Saint-Saėns, and Fauré all feature in this comprehensive 43-CD box with original jackets.

Includes two previously unpublished works – Brahms’ Second Sonata, left unpublished for want of a suitable coupling, and a selection of preludes by the Japanese composer Takashi Yoshimatsu (b. 1953). Also published for the first time on Decca is a recording of Mozart concertos with Raymond Leppard.

The set is accompanied by a fascinating essay by piano specialist Jeremy Nicholas, incorporating reminiscences by Rogé about the background to these recordings, and his serendipitous introduction to Decca.
