Cafè Dreams
Maiorano delivers a distinctive blend of rootsy, groovy, and melancholic dreamy pop, layered with touches of soul, funk, and indie. Fronted by Italian-born singer and guitarist Alex Maiorano, the band includes lifelong friends Alessio D’Alessandro on drums and Nicola Battistelli on saxophone and keyboards, with Argentinian musicians Mauro Martinez (bass/guitar) and Emiliano Salvatore completing the lineup. Their sound is driven by Alex’s warm, lazy vocals, backed by a reverby cleaned guitar, tight rhythm section and soulful, powerful sax solos. Based in Berlin, the band’s roots stretch back to small towns in Italy, where their love for music was born in their early, rebellious years. After moving to Berlin, they immersed themselves in the city's underground scene by playing bars, organizing DIY shows, and performing wherever they could to build a following. Their second album, Luna Nova, marked a shift in direction exploring new sonic textures with synths and fresh melodic ideas as Alex evolved his songwriting. Known for their groovy, energetic live shows, Maiorano has shared stages with artists like St. Paul and The Broken Bones, The Murlocs, Detroit Cobras, The Temples, and recently toured as support for Say She She and Bobby Oroza. Their third album, Café Dreams, will be released on September 19 via Irma Records.
