Brodie Barclay
Proud Scotsman Brodie Barclay's songcraft blends comedy with tragedy, self-deprecation with authenticity, with a remarkable ability to make his listeners feel like his pals and a relatability thatâs as heartbreaking as it is infectious.
Growing up in Edinburgh, Brodieâs songwriting was sparked by car rides listening to the radio, where he realised he could replace lyrics of big hitters with something more honest to himself. After peaking the interest of Grumpy Management (Ed Sheeran, Maisie Peters), he moved to London, going on to create his debut EP alongside Communionâs Kev Jones (formerly of Bearâs Den, producer of Wunderhorseâs debut record âCubâ). The EP pulls together the stories of many people his age, âchildlike fantasy, humour, love, loss and reflection; âI like making people laugh and making them feel seenâ.
