Arcade Melodies
Agassi are a new indie band from Hamburg, formed when British singer Ben Galliers and Mark Tavassol (Wir sind Helden, Gloria) began writing songs together towards the end of the pandemic. What started as a casual collaboration quickly developed into something more concrete â together with Nina MĂŒller (Jupiter Jones, WIM), Jonas Böker and Koschi Koschnitzke, the quintet immediately found a common rhythm. Their debut single âThe Whole Shebangâ captures that spark: relaxed but razor-sharp, bass-heavy and groovy, with a dry lyrical tone that places them somewhere between Wet Leg and Yard Act, but with an unmistakable Hamburg touch. Produced by Johann Scheerer (Peter Doherty, Bosnian Rainbows and Omar RodrĂguez-LĂłpez) at Clouds Hill Studio, the track conveys an analogue warmth and unpolished charm that are difficult to fake. It's the sound of a band that relies on instinct rather than strategy, and it shows. Agassi will make their live debut at radioeins Parkfest â a perfect setting to showcase a project based on genuine chemistry, trusted collaborators and a clear identity from the outset. It's still early days, but they've already brought all the right ingredients to the table.
